The land areas feature low-mountain hills, where many parts of the mountain have been cultivated as rice or other crop fields. The Taean region has 1,334.2 mm of rainfall on average each year with half of this falling in between the months of July to September.
It has a coast national park, which is unique in Korea. The coastal length is 530.8km, where every corner of the coasts boast of exclusively unique scenery with more than 120 small and big islands scattered all over the area.
On the bordered of three seas in the Yellow Sea, Taean makes for a lovely waterfront attraction. The heavily indented coastline stretching along its borders harbors also the National Waterfront Museum and Cheonsuman Bay. Manlipo Beach is one of 300 beaches and small islands surrounding Taean.
Merely not satisfied with the current status, Taean government in collaboration with Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co., is making strenuous efforts to develop itself into an ecological friendly Tourism and Leisure City with an eco-experience park, cultural and youth park, and eco-sports park. |
